It also helps with patterns. If you see “leak near bedroom wall” show up three times in two years, you know there’s a deeper issue, not random bad luck. For maintenance tasks like AC servicing, filter replacement or pest control, past entries remind you when the next one is due.
If you ever sell or rent the property, being able to show a neat history of care makes you look like a responsible owner. Ten minutes here and there, writing things down, saves hours of confusion later when memories blur and bills vanish.
