Should you visit a property at different times of day before deciding

If you can, yes, it’s very helpful. A house can feel completely different in the morning light compared to late afternoon or evening. Visiting at different times lets you see how much natural light each room actually gets, how noisy the street becomes during rush hour, and what the neighbourhood atmosphere is like after dark.

In the morning, you can judge how sunlight enters bedrooms and kitchen. Around evening, you’ll notice parking situations, kids playing, shop activity and traffic flows. At night, you’ll see how well-lit the area feels and whether it’s comfortable to walk around.

Of course, this isn’t always possible, especially if you’re buying in a hot market or from far away. But even two visits at different times are better than one rushed viewing. A home is not just four walls; it’s the whole daily rhythm around it. Seeing that rhythm makes your decision more grounded instead of purely emotional.
