A surprisingly forgotten spot is the tops and backs of doors and door frames. We clean handles and maybe wipe the visible surface sometimes, but the top edge of the door collects a thick line of dust over time. The same goes for the frame above eye level. Because we rarely look up, it quietly builds a grey “cap” of dirt.
Other sneaky spots are behind wall-mounted TVs, under sofas that are never moved, and the area around switchboards. But doors are especially common because they’re in every room. When someone taller visits or light hits from a certain angle, that dust line becomes visible and makes the whole place feel less cared for.
The fix is easy. Once a month, take a microfiber cloth or duster and run it over the tops of doors and frames as you walk from room to room. It takes seconds per door. Add it to your monthly cleaning list and you’ll never have that embarrassing layer of dust silently greeting your guests.
